Mail Metrics, one of Ireland’s leading specialists in Outsourced Customer Communications has announced details of two important new strategic acquisitions that will rapidly accelerate the growth of the business, adding GBP £10.5 million in annual recurring revenue, expanding its footprint in Ireland and positioning it to become a significant player in the UK market as employee numbers reach 100.
With operations in Edinburgh, Scotland and Bangor, Northern Ireland, Mail Metrics has fully acquired Forth Communication. For thirty years, Forth has delivered complex and demanding communication solutions for some of the largest financial services, utilities, health and government providers in the United Kingdom providing Mail Metrics with a solid platform for expansion in the UK market.
Current Forth Communication MD Richard Bolton will depart the business after a handover period to pursue other opportunities. He said: “Having grown our business steadily over many years, the team at Forth is really excited to be bringing the offer of digital migration to our loyal clients. The Mail Metrics platform as a single source for digital communications, added to the print and mail stream, is exactly what our clients and prospects are looking for. We look forward to rolling out the service to our chosen sectors across GB and Ireland.”
Forth Director Andrew O’Driscoll will remain with the business and join the Mail Metrics senior leadership team.
Separately, Mail Metrics has purchased a majority share in its long-term commercial partner Persona the Dublin based provider of secure printing and document management solutions to companies in the financial services and government sectors.
Mail Metrics is actively seeking to add to the personnel in both firms as it manages the growth in demand for its services. No financial details of the deals have been released and no jobs are affected. Following the acquisitions, the Mail Metrics Group will be led by Nick Keegan as Group CEO.
Commenting on the developments, Nick Keegan said: “We believe that there is significant potential in the UK market for our technology platform. Revenues have increased steadily for the past number of years with the business experiencing average growth rates of approximately 40% year on year. In taking this step, we have created a blended offering which delivers both digital communications and print/mail communications in one seamless solution.”
Mail Metrics typically works with firms in regulated industries including financial services and healthcare where the emergence of digital channels, greater compliance demands, and increasing costs to serve, are changing how large entities approach the management of their customer communications.
As a result, Mail Metrics handles millions of business critical, regulatory and customer communications each year ranging from renewal notices, claims correspondence and healthcare information to general customer communications.
Mail Metrics, ranked 15th in the Deloitte Ireland Fast 50 Awards, now employs 100 people between its operations in Dublin, Bangor, Edinburgh and Warsaw. Blue-Chip clients include many notable financial services companies and government organisations. Its 40,000 sq. ft. Operations Centre in North Dublin is a secure, specialist facility for the processing of millions of inbound and outbound mail items via state-of-the-art print, mailing and document scanning technologies.
Formed in 1971, Persona, based at Clonshaugh Technology and Business Park, in Dublin 17 is a provider of secure printing and document management solutions to companies in the financial services and government sectors. With a headcount of 30 people, Persona has grown to become the market leader in their niche over the past 40 years. In particular, the firm specialises in mailroom outsourcing for financial services companies. With Central Bank approval these companies outsource the printing and posting of their regulatory and customer correspondence to Persona.
Mail Metrics specialises in helping companies to digitally transform their customer correspondence, helping companies to go paperless. Mail Metrics has partnered with Persona since it was established in 2013, providing all technology and digital communications in support of Persona’s paper-based document management. The combined offering has seen both companies experience rapid growth. The Mail Metrics product won the 2021 Deloitte Financial Services Award for a technological innovation that enhances social responsibility or sustainable aspects of a business or community.
Nick Keegan commented: “This acquisition of Forth and Persona further strengthens our position as the partner of choice for secure customer communication solutions in Ireland and the UK. Forth and Persona’s secure facilities and the “physical” document management services perfectly compliment the Mail Metrics cloud platform. Together, we provide an unrivalled solution for all customer communication requirements, whether through digital or postal channels, across the UK and Ireland. As Mail Metrics continues to scale, we felt that it was time for us to control the end-to-end service offering with these acquisitions making perfect strategic sense.”
