As a Yorkshireman, living in Bangor it’s safe to say that I’m a Northerner wherever I am. Myself, Irish wife Louise and now native Irish Children, Will, Emery and Corah have been here for over 5 years and I have been working with Forth Mailing Solutions for the past year.
With over 25 years’ experience in Senior Director roles, specialising in growing businesses and exceeding client expectations, I was excited to take on the role of growing the mailing solutions business. Established as a mailing house and Direct Mail provider for the last 25 years, we now consider ourselves the data communications specialists having moved with the times and recently ahead of the curve with our software development.
We are the leading provider of tailored and specialist Data, Print and Postage projects across both the Private and Public Sector in the UK & Ireland. I like to say that no one can do what we do as we are a full-service operation working from brief to delivery.
2018 was a fantastic year with growth of over 30%, new clients coming on board and a £500,000 investment in technology and specialist roles, oh and a new baby! … We continue to be the experts in Pension Part VII client communications with another major project about to kick off. We have major clients across a variety of industries – Utilities, Financial, Insurance and Telecoms for transactional and policyholder communication. Recently we have also been considered for Disaster Recovery communications, it’s the first time I can say that I am glad they did not require our help.
I am really proud of the team here, they work really hard and are genuinely are a lovely bunch of people and a pleasure to spend my days with, this was demonstrated in winning the award for Customer Services 2018 in the Professional Business Services for the Chamber of Commerce
We continue to improve and develop, we now have the capacity to print and deliver in excess of 125,000 packs per day and if we continue as we are this can only grow. We are already seeing a significant increase in activity and volume following the Information Commissioner’s Office confirming that companies will be able to use legitimate interests – and not have to gain explicit consent – under GDPR to contact consumers by post.
There have been a number of surveys conducted across the industry over the past 12 months which highlight and recognise that Direct Mail is back on the rise and recognised as the leading communication method for levels of impact when used in conjunction with email technology
as a blended approach, industries are more likely to see favourable returns and successes rather than just using email alone. This is great news for us, but with GDPR coming into force, not unexpected.
In 2019 we will continue to expand our existing client base across the UK & Ireland and remain to be seen as the leading specialists in customer communications. Supporting our clients with their blended and Multifaceted communication plans, offering advice, best practice and the most cost-effective approach is paramount.
Yes, the future is uncertain at the moment as we are all well aware, but one thing I always say is “Love what you do!”. Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.
